About Captain Tasks
What is Captain Tasks?
Captain Tasks is a task management app for Shopify teams. It gives your staff shared boards for the everyday work behind the store.
Is it a customer support helpdesk?
No. Captain Tasks is for work between your staff. Customers cannot create or view tasks.
Does it work outside Shopify?
Captain Tasks is made specifically for Shopify and runs inside Shopify Admin. Your team uses its existing Shopify staff accounts.
Tasks and boards
What can I add to a task?
A task can have a title, description, board, status, priority, assignee, tags, due date, comments, and private file attachments up to 5 MB per file.
Can tasks link to products and orders?
Yes. Create a Captain Task while looking at a Shopify product or order. The task keeps a direct link to that record.
Can we use more than one board?
Yes. Create separate boards for store operations, content, merchandising, campaigns, or any other work your team wants to keep apart.
Can archived tasks be restored?
Yes. Archived tasks can be restored with their comments, files, Shopify links, and activity history intact.
Team and privacy
Do team members need another account?
No. Your team uses its existing Shopify staff accounts. A staff member joins Captain Tasks the first time they open the app.
Is work shared between Shopify stores?
No. Each store has its own boards, tasks, team members, comments, and attachments.
Does the app change my storefront?
No. Captain Tasks does not add scripts to your storefront or change your theme, products, or orders.
